The WHALE is a restaurant concept which personifies the lavish lifestyle of the 40s and 50s world wide "high roller" casino culture.

WHALE Meaning: The highest of high rollers, is referred to as a WHALE, a gambler who consistently wagers large amounts of money. WHALES often receive lavish "comps" from casinos to lure them onto the gambling floors, such as free private jet transfers, limousines, and use of the casinos' best suites talking about high stakes gambling.

It’s important to make a distinction between the term “WHALE” and “high roller” since in the eyes of the casino they are two very different things. While there is no exact definition of what constitutes each category, a general assumption would be that a high roller has a gambling budget of anywhere from $100,000 up to around $1M for a typical 3 day weekend trip to the casino.
